Norfolk’s Friendliest Festival Returns Home For 2018
Follow the Yellow Brick Road….. all the way to Trunch in North Norfolk as the counties favourite family festival clicks it’s heels and returns to the place it all started, proving once and for all, there really is ‘no place like home’!
Bringing with it all the most popular bits from the past years and adding a whole new layer of experiences, this year’s festival promises to be the best yet. Featuring many of the counties best new up and coming bands as well as the crème of last year’s crop, Trunchonbury 2018 brings you three full days of music, food and entertainment for all the family.
The Kings of the Trunchonbury 2017 Dance tent are back! Due to a huge wave of love that swept over us after their amazing performance last year, we are bringing back the truly incredible Correspondents to headline the Main Stage on Saturday Night (25th Aug). And what a night it promises to be!
If you managed to get into the packed dance tent last year, you would have witnessed a show that more than likely blew you away. Well you had better hang on to your hats and your socks, as let loose on the main stage the Correspondents are guaranteed to bring the house down!
For those of you who have not yet experienced the kings of hip hop swing, The Correspondents are a British electro swing duo based in London, formed by frontman Mr. Bruce and DJ Chucks. They have gained a reputation in the electro swing scene for both their energetic musical style—a mixture of early 20th century Jazz and Swing combined with Modern Electro and Drum'n'Bass—and also for Mr. Bruce's flamboyant stage presence. They have been described as "brilliant and ridiculous in gloriously equal measures” with their live shows consisting of multi-genre dance music spanning blues, jazz, soul, funk and out and out electro pop.
So get ready to dance till your feet hurt, as Chucks throws a huge range of dance music from Blues to Jazz, Electro and Dubstep to Drum’n’Bass into his DJ mixing pot. Mr Bruce's quirky vocals, depicting the trials and errors of Love, Lust and Loss add to this delightful blend and guarantee to make it a night to be remembered.
The Correspondents live shows explode the tried and tested structure of a normal DJ/MC set-up, with Chucks hurling tracks at the audience and Mr Bruce in fully flamboyant costume whipping everyone into a frenzy with incredulous dance moves.
More bands to be announced shortly!
Returning by popular demand will be the children’s field including Burts Amazing Animals and the Medieval Village. The theme this year is of course, the Wizard of Oz so expect lots of yellow brick road themed activities for teenies to tweenies. Will you find the Wizard at the end of it? Only time will tell.
There will be stalls and a food court, the Trunchonbury Arms and a very special tea room. The Acoustic tent plays host to the Real Ale and Cider Bar, a horsebox serves Prosecco and Gin and the Double Decker Bus known as Blakey’s Bar will this year be open to everyone.
Each morning we will wake you with gentle music and yoga by the mainstage, and throughout the day in the Preforming Arts tent you can join in workshops, watch comedians or catch a play. Sunday will of course be Ladies Day. Gents we expect dresses and Ladies it’s all about hats and hair. so why not show us your best rolls, waves, pomps and curls, land girl headscarves, Bloaters, Berets, Trilby’s or Turbans!
There will be traditional fair rides and attractions and there will be plenty of one off events popping up around the field. From the minute you enter the Land of Oz till that final click of your heels takes you home, let the magic that is Trunchonbury wrap itself around you and transport you to a different land.
Tickets this year start at just £15 for an early bird day ticket and camping over the weekend is just £5 per night. See website for Prices and to buy Tickets and don’t forget to check back as we will be releasing more details on a regular basis.
