Tasburgh Sports & Social Club

Grove Lane, Tasburgh, Norfolk,

The Tasburgh Sports & Social Club was formed in 1994 by the members of the then carpet bowls team who wished to offer some hospitality to visiting teams. The club was originally located at the front of the village hall, which is now the small committee room.

However, after several hundred hours of volunteered efforts by its members, (we are pleased to say some of our founder members are still using the club today) in 2002 the club moved to its present location at the rear of the main hall.

We source our food & drink from local companies within a 30 mile radius of Tasburgh & as a member of CAMRA the Campaign for Real Ale we are well known for having a good selection of Real Ales on tap. We usually have 2 Local sourced Ales & 2 national sourced Ales & even more during our events.

The Social Club is staffed & managed by volunteers who willingly give up their time to organise events, staff the bar & generally work tirelessly in the background.

Any profits we make are either used to improve the club for its members or support the Village Hall with improvements as well as local charities within the community.

Today, the purpose of the club is to provide an environment where residents of the local community can meet & enjoy each other’s company, the partaking of regular varied entertainment provided by the club & competitively priced drinks.

Membership is open to all for a small yearly charge which entitles you to free access to the club & it’s events.

The club is run by volunteers & any profit it makes, it ploughs back into supporting local community groups & the village hall.

Special Events are organised for Football Tournaments, Rugby Tournaments, various Saints days like St Patrick’s etc… & we are always open for New Year.

We also have the Family Fun Weekend in July, so look out for more details.

Every year the Tasburgh Sports & Social Club organises a Beer and music Festival for the local community, in previous years we have focused on the music with a large varied line up (TASFEST), a large selection of Beers and also live entertainment in the centre ring. Each event has been special and well received. But this year we want to do something different, by this we mean that we wanted to get back to basics, involve the community more and have some old fashioned fun.

To this end after the sucess last of year we are going to have another Family Fun Weekend in July, the idea is to have traditional games that all the family can enjoy and take part in like: Family races (three legged race, egg & spoon, sack Race etc…), Tug of War, football penalties, as well as something for the younger children. Bouncy Castle & Puffing Billy Train Rides, tombola’s & stalls. We will also be having a smaller Beer festival & BBQ. There will also be a Disco on the Friday night.

You can also find us on Facebook, search for Tasburgh Sports and Social Club for regular updates.

We look forward to welcoming you
